About

Musings of an ordinary working mom...

I am a big-time food lover. Before becoming a blogger, one of my favorite passtime was to watch Food Network! I created this blog to follow my niece's 'yummy' blog and some of my other favorite blogs to help me with my everyday cooking.

My blog list kept growing and when it grew out of control, the idea of categorizing them struck me (Yes, I get struck with crazy ideas lately!). Anyways, I couldn't stop and decided to keep going...

I enjoyed every moment I spent on this blog, learning a lot about my own Kerala cuisine and the other regional cuisines of India. I came across many wonderful and impressive cookery blogs, all of which I have listed here. Now I know (only theory, lacks practical experience!) more about kootu, kozhambu, koora, pulusu, palya, gojju, baath, saaru, kheema, kebab, khichdi, bhaji, shaak, tandoor, tikka, sabji, korma, kachori, pakora, jhol, pilaf, jhola, bhaja...and the list goes on...

The cuisines of the seven sister states in the northeast is still a mystery to me. The most important fact that I learned is that Indian cuisines are so rich and diverse that it is very difficult to categorize them, though I tried my best to do so here.

Now that my blog list is getting saturated, I decided to do more cooking and less blogging. Since the blogging spirit is still high in me, I may sometimes upload pictures of the recipes that I have tried (if my cooking and photographic skills work hand in hand!).

Happy blogging friends...

Questions from Readers
  1. Why not posting the recipe? Why should we go to that link?
This blog is intented as a blogroll and not as a recipe blog. I have listed 800+ blogs and please follow any of those blogs for recipes. Feel free to search those blogs using the seach engine provided here, if you find that useful.
I like cooking different dishes for my family (anyway I have to cook, why not make it exciting by trying different dishes!!!). I'm putting a picture of it just as a hobby and let the recipe owners know about it, to make sure that I'm not violating any of their copyright policies. Also I keep a link to the recipes that I tried, for my own personal use, so that I don't have to search for it in future (kind of like an e-diary - just trying to make life easy!). I'm not recommending or supporting any blogs or recipes.
    Sorry about that!!!
